5.0 out of 5 stars A fisherman’s tale with dangerous challenges beyond the fish…

If you
enjoy adventure and the thrill of a dangerous voyage, read this story. Spence
has a knack for creating exhilarating action scenes for the many surprise
challenges his MC, Chris Stone, experiences, particularly the ocean storm
scenes where a rogue wave nearly claims Chris’ life before he reached
Madagascar. The writing is often poetic, at least to a seafaring man:
“…they pushed the shallow-draught 20-foot vessel out through the small
breakers creaming lazily onto the beach.”
Reading this multi-locationed tale, I was reminded of Jack London stories. The
wildness of nature and Chris’ appreciation of the hunt, or rather the fishing,
was painted in vivid imagery. The description brought me to the Columbian coast
and the Caribbean Sea as he hooked bonefish, gar and best of all, a
fifteen-pound permit, king of the flats. But Chris was not stopping. Next he
fished in Chechnya for giant browns, then Labrador for even bigger ones before
ending in Alaska’s prime salmon fishing area. Each trip brought a surprise and
challenged Chris’ survival skills to the limit. A pleasure to read. Five stars.
Bloodhorn
5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute must-read in an up-to-the-minute setting

In spite of the backdrop of the horrors of the rhino horn trade, this fast-paced and exciting novel leads up to one of the most satisfying endings you will find in the genre. Following the changes of country and the twists and turns of the story you will watch Chris Stone and his team of family and friends outfacing one of the most heartless villains you are likely to come across. Very good read indeed, I couldn’t put it down – this is an all-nighter if you are one of the readers who has to know what happens next!
Blood Brothers
5.0 out of 5 stars A skillfully woven story of fierce battles…

A skillfully woven story of fierce battles between special ops heroes and fanatical jihadists. Dirty bombs are the ultimate terrorist weapon but Blood Brothers in arms stand in the way. Five stars are well-deserved by former journalist, turned novelist, Graham Spence. His writing style glides the reader into the story in a smoothly unwinding fashion. All whilst sharing backstory in drips that do not slow the pace. Read this book.
Blood Tide
5.0 out of 5 stars Highly enjoyable action read

I have read all of the novels in the Chris Stone series and this was definitely my favourite. I enjoyed reading the story in the first person – it seemed to flow more – and I loved the plot. It is written in a way that makes the dark subject matter feel like fun, light reading, and I read the book quite quickly because it was a good adventure and easy to read. I definitely recommend this novel.
